The Rascal CompanyTM Scooter Limited Warranty
(Effective as of June 18, 2007)
LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Standard One-Year Limited Warranty on Scooter & Parts:
For one (1) year from the date of purchase, Electric Mobility® Corporation DBA The Rascal Company will at its option, repair or replace to the original purchaser, free of charge, the scooter or any part, if properly used and maintained in accordance with the owner/operator manual and if found upon examination by an authorized representative of The Rascal Company
to be defective in material and/or workmanship. Warranty service can be performed by an authorized service representative or by The Rascal Company. Please see exclusions and limitations to limited warranty coverage below. Limited warranty coverage on scooter and parts is extended to 3 years from date of purchase for Rascal AutoGo 555.
Premier Scooter Limited Warranty:
For the frame for model 600 series scooters and AutoGo Vision® scooters, The Rascal Company extends the standard one-year limited warranty period to the lifetime of the scooter. All other terms apply.
For the drivetrain (including transaxle, motor, and brake) for model 600 series scooters, The Rascal Company extends the standard one-year limited warranty period to a 3-year prorated warranty as follows (all other terms apply):
1st Year: We pay 100% of the cost for replacement of parts. You pay nothing.
2nd Year: We pay 67% of the cost for replacement of parts. You pay 33%.
3rd Year: We pay 50% of the cost for replacement of parts. You pay 50%.
EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS TO LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE:Exclusions on Limited Warranty Coverage:
The Limited Warranty coverage described above does not apply to the following:
Replacement or repairs due to normal usage resulting in rust or corrosion.
Transaxle: In cases where there is an increase in the operational noise level, the warranty will not apply. (This usually occurs due to abusive and excessive strain on scooter.)
Brake: Limited warranty applies to electrical function of the brake. (Brake pads are a wear item and will be warranted for one year.)
Motor brushes, plastic shrouds (including body shells), tires (including flat tires),
seats, and baskets.
Batteries, except that The Rascal Company will replace defective batteries at no
cost during the first sixty (60) days after purchase for model 600 and 500 series
scooters. After the first sixty (60) days, battery replacement costs are prorated for an additional ten (10) months at 10% each month and are the responsibility of the original purchaser. (Example: To replace a battery that costs $89.95 in the first month after sixty days, your cost would be 10% of $89.95, or $8.99.)
Damage caused by:
a. Battery fluid spillage or leakage;
b. Abuse, misuse, accident, or negligence;
c. Improper operation, maintenance (e.g., damage caused to motor resulting from failure to replace motor brushes after heavy wear to the brushes), or storage;
d. Commercial use or use other than normal wear and tear;
e. Repairs and/or modifications made to any part, unless specifically
authorized by The Rascal Company; or
f. Circumstances beyond the control of The Rascal Company, including but
not limited to force majeure such as natural disasters or acts of war.
Labor, service calls, shipping, and other charges incurred for repairs, unless
specifically authorized by The Rascal Company, except during the first thirty (30)
days of ownership. Please see Rascal Service Procedures.
Limitations on Warranty Coverage for Reconditioned Scooters:
Unless expressly provided by law, reconditioned scooters are subject to a six-month limited warranty. All other terms of the Limited Warranty apply.
The Rascal Company Powerchair (PC) Limited Warranty(Effective as of June 18, 2007)
LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Three-Year Limited Warranty for PC Main Frame:
For three (3) years from the date of purchase, Electric Mobility Corporation DBA The Rascal Company will at its option, repair or replace to the original purchaser, the PC main frame, if found upon examination by an authorized representative of The Rascal Company to be defective in material and/or workmanship.
One-Year Limited Warranty for PC Parts:
For one (1) year from the date of purchase, The Rascal Company will at its option, repair or replace to the original purchaser, any of the PC parts listed directly below, if found upon examination by an authorized representative of The Rascal Company to be defective in material and/or workmanship:
Electronic controller and joystick modules
Motor/gearbox assembly
Main frame sub-assemblies (i.e., forks, torsion bar, metal seat base, and footrest)
Plastic components, except body shell
Rubber components, except tires
Caster wheels
EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS TO LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE:Exclusions on Three-Year and One-Year Limited Warranty Coverage:
The Three-Year and One-Year Limited Warranties described above do not apply to
the following:
Motor brushes, brake pads, batteries, plastic shrouds (including body shells),
tires (including flat tires), seats, and baskets.
Damage caused by:
a. Battery fluid spillage or leakage;

c. Improper operation, maintenance (e.g., damage caused to motor resulting from

For one (1) year from the date of purchase, Electric Mobility® Corporation DBA The Rascal Company will at its option, repair or replace to the original purchaser, free of charge, any accessory, if found upon examination by an authorized representative of The Rascal Company to be defective in material and/or workmanship. Warranty service can be performed by an authorized service representative or by The Rascal Company. Please see exclusions to limited warranty coverage below.

Rascal Service Procedures
OBTAINING WARRANTY SERVICE:
Rascal Service Procedures:If you experience any problems with your product and require advice or service, please follow the procedures below.
Within The Limited Warranty Period: Contact The Rascal Company’s Customer Service Department (see Rascal Telephone Numbers). The Rascal Company will gladly help you determine the cause of the problem and arrange for an inspection and/or repair of your unit if necessary. During the first thirty (30) days of ownership, The Rascal Company will cover the cost of travel expenses for Warranty Service only.
After the first 30 days, these costs are your responsibility. The Rascal Company
will gladly recommend a Service Representative in your area or help you determine the cause of your problem. The Rascal Company will ship the necessary parts to you, or the authorized Service Representative you have chosen, or have you return the parts or product to a factory-operated service center for the necessary repairs.
After The Limited Warranty Period: Contact The Rascal Company’s Customer
Service Department (see Rascal Telephone Numbers). The Rascal Company will gladly help you determine the cause of the problem and recommend a solution or direct you to a Service Representative in your area. If a part or the product needs to be returned to the factory for repair, follow the procedures under Rascal Repair Procedures.
Rascal Repair Procedures:Faulty parts should not be returned to The Rascal Company without prior consent. If you need to return a part or the product, call The Rascal Company’s Customer Service Department to obtain a Return Authorization Number. This number must be placed on the return package. It is used to identify the customer, the part, and the type of repair. Any part or product received without this number will be returned to the sender at the sender’s expense. In the event that you must return the product, a Customer Service Representative can help you make the necessary arrangements. All returns must be shipped to the attention of the Service Center.
To help us serve you as quickly as possible, have your serial number and your order number ready when you call. When ordering parts, please have your method of payment ready (e.g., credit card numbers and expiration date, check, or COD). All parts are shipped UPS Ground. You may request alternative shipping arrangements for an additional charge based on weight and destination (e.g., UPS Next Day, UPS 2nd Day).

The Rascal Company is not responsible for direct, special, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from any breach of warranty or condition, or under any other legal theory including but not limited to personal injury or property damage arising from any defect in this product.
If The Rascal Company cannot lawfully disclaim implied warranties under this Limited Warranty, all such implied warranties including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are limited in duration to the durations that apply to this Limited Warranty. Some states and provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or exclusions or limitations on implied warranties or conditions, so the above exclusions and/or limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by state or province.
